13 Reasons Why – Season 2

Is there a season 2 of 13 reasons why? The answer is YES!

When this show was released, on March 31, 2017, everyone was talking about it. We were all impressed and speechless. The story behind this show was touching. 13 Reasons Why is a 13-episode series that follows the life and death of one Hannah Baker, a high-school student who died by suicide and leaves 13 tapes to all of those who had a part in her death. We see the show through the eyes of Clay Jensen, a boy who had feelings for Hannah, and was never quite sure if the feelings were mutual.

As soon as everyone finished season 1, people started wondering about the season 2. The ending left us questioning about a lot of things. Well, good news, season 2 is definitely happening. Although we still have no official release date for it. But we do have some clues about this season coming up in 2018.

Here are some things you need to know about the season 2:

Hannah will have a large role in the story despite her death in season one. “It would have been weird to end Hannah’s story in season one because we only heard very small tidbits of her life told by her”. But, Hannah will no longer narrate the series. There’s voiceover in every episode.

We will also her about Hannah’s classmates’ side of the story.

Unfortunately, there won’t be many new Clay and Hannah scenes, only a ton of flashbacks.

“It was a very different season to season one for a lot of reasons, but I’m super grateful that I was asked back because I think that there was so much left to tell and I’m really glad we got to focus on some important storylines for other characters,” Katherine shared. “But, I mean, the Hannah in season one —she’s gone. She’s still there this season, but I would prepare audiences to see a different Hannah this season.”

Despite the love this show got, there was criticisms about showing a suicide in such details also showing a rape scene. Some thought that those scenes, for someone with suicidal tendencies,  could be something that pushes them over the edge. But it could also be the thing that finally encourages them to get help.

Personally, I think, this show had a strong meaning, the scenes that were showed in this show are things that are happening in our daily lives. This show teaches us that we should treat people in the most possible good way, because you are never sure what’s going on somebody’s life. Always be kind. Never judge. Give help. Show love. Getting help is what saves people. If you can’t say something nice to someone, then don’t say nothing at all.
