The Evolution of The Weeknd’s hair

I bet everyone misses Abel’s famous hair, or so called pineapple hair. It made him unique in the most possible way. But the question is…why did he cut it?

The Weeknd’s hair started its journey on early 2012, a slightly overgrown afro, before slowly developing its own character.

And then in 2013, by this stage it started gaining attention. We were all confused. Are those trimmed sides? How do we ask for that at the barbers?

Then, by the time he reached his first solo tour looking like this. Mmm, looks pretty good to me.

In 2015, basically the bigger The Weeknd got, the bigger his hair grew. It needed some serious styling. And it was tied up ever since…

Until…in 2016 Abel came out in the new “Starboy” era with a new trimmed cut. I mean whaaaat! He got us shocked, but still looking good though.

But, Tesfaye explained his sudden change of hairstyle :

“The vision wasn’t there anymore,” he explained. “It was there and then just like the music, it was getting really sad. It was the greatest feeling of all time [cutting it off]. It was so good. I could sleep better, I felt lighter, and when I perform, I perform better and feel better, It’s cool. The best part about all of it, I get to wear hats again. Wear a cap and walk into a restaurant and nobody knows it’s you, it’s the greatest feeling.”

What do you think guys? Is there any chance that he brings the pineapple hair back? Do you miss the famous hair?
