If you’ve ever wanted an engagement ring to be forever with you, Here is a new trend that will make it possible .
The latest in engagement ring trends has nothing to do with a ring at all and everything to do with a piercing.
People Are Getting Diamond Dermal Piercings on Their Fingers in Place of Engagement Rings a which is a really nice idea ,and it cost less than a traditional ring we used to see mostly.
The procedure takes about 10 minutes and costs $100.
A piercing artist marks the spot with a pen, cleans with alcohol and iodine, uses a tool to remove a small patch of skin, and then inserts an anchor made of titanium or gold, which holds the gem.
The ‘ring’ is placed with a dermal anchor. Unlike traditional piercings that go in one side and exit the other, to place a dermal stud, piercers must first remove a circle of skin with a dermal punch before using small forceps to insert a“dermal anchor into the resulting hole.”
The bling is then attached to the anchor. But not everyone thinks this is a good idea.
Health experts say the diamond can damage important structures in the hands.
“We notice lately a lot of people coming looking for that,” said Sam Abbas, who owns NYC Ink Studio in the West Village”
“I think it looks nice, but if you really think what it’s doing to the body – and you can have scarring – it’s so many complications that can happen from it,” Cynthia Rivas said.
Abbas said there could be problems if the person doesn’t take care of the piercing, such as cleaning it two to three times a day and making sure the piercing artist has experience.
“You’re dealing with the blood, so you got to be very, very safe,” he said. “What we do, we sterilize everything.”
As for the pain?
“You’re going to feel it. You’re getting pierced. It is a little bit painful. But people did it, and I have a lot of people who say, ‘Oh nice, it’s nothing, I expected more,'” said Abbas.
Healing from this kind of piercing can take up to 20 weeks. If you want the diamond removed, that’s possible but could be more painful than the initial piercing.
